Frank HUANG
Frank Huang has worked in Guangzhou, Shanghai and Shenzhen and now is the executive partner in the Shenzhen office of Guantao Law Firm. He specialises in commercial dispute resolution with particular focus on corporate law, private equity, insurance, shipping and international trade. Mr. Huang is legal counsel of a number of large and medium-sized enterprises, including foreign-invested enterprises in China.
Some of the significant litigation and arbitration cases handled by Mr. Huang in recent years including dispute over ascertainment of Hong Kong law before the Supreme People’s Court of PRC, dispute over equipment quality managed by International Court of Arbitration Singapore (ICC), dispute over shareholder agreement managed by Hong Kong International Arbitration Center (HKIAC), recognition and enforcement of arbitration award before Italian court, etc. Mr. Huang has also succeeded in replacing the fund manager through the general meeting of holders of a private equity fund, which was recognized by the custodian and the authority, and was the first successful case in the history of China's funds.
Mr. Huang is Director of the Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan Law Committee of Shenzhen Lawyers Association, Director of the International Working Center of Futian Lawyer’s Working Committee of Shenzhen Lawyers Association, Vice Director of Cross-border Dispute Resolution Law Committee of Guangdong Lawyers Association, Member of Council of the Hong Kong and Macau Law Research Association of Shenzhen Law Society, Civil and Administrative Prosecution Consulting Expert of the Supreme People’s Procuratorate of PRC. Mr. Huang is also arbitrator of Nanjing Arbitration Committee.
Mr. Huang was award to be “China Leading International Lawyers” by the All China Lawyers Association (ACLA), Recommended International Lawyers” in the fields of “Shipping” and “Cross-border Litigation and Arbitration” by the Ministry of Justice of PRC, “The A-List 2022: China’s Elite Lawyers” by China Business Law Journal (CBLJ) and “2023 ALB China Top 15 Litigators” by Asian Legal Business (ALB).
Mr. Huang was the author of China chapter of “The Insurance Dispute Law Review”and “Shipping Law 2018 of the International Comparative Legal Guide” which were published in London, and author of “A Practical Study of the Anti-suit Injunction System for International Commercial Disputes”, “Whether the Guarantee Period Should Apply to Invalid Guarantee Contracts” and other practical articles. Mr. Huang is frequently invited to speak on topics related to litigation and arbitration.
